My 5 favorite tips for Immunity Support
’Tis the season…cough cough, sniffle sniffle… sneeze!
Oh the dreaded cold and flu season is here and we are all doing our best to keep the germs away and keep our bodies healthy.
The best thing to do for ourselves and our families is to support our immune system while it is healthy and keep it that way.
Being an elementary school teacher, I am exposed to my fair-share of germs. Ever since I started teaching ten years ago, I inevitably would find myself sick from November through February. It was just the way things were…until I started using essential oils. Last year I was able to stay healthier than I had in years!

Here are my 5 best tips for supporting a healthy immune system:
1) Diffuse Thieves and Purification
Thieves is excellent for the immune system and Purification does just what it says – it purifies the air. By diffusing these two together for 30 minutes each evening, I know I am helping to support my family’s immune system aromatically.
2) Wellness Roller
This little 5ml roller is packed with immunity support! Roll on bottoms of feet and along spine each night and morning. Recipe: 5ml glass roller bottle, 3 drops Thieves, 2 drops oregano oil, 2 drops lemon, 1 drop copaiba. Top with carrier oil (grape seed or almond oil).
3) Throat Soother
When you start to feel a little tickle in your throat, use this soother recipe to kick your immune system into gear. This recipe calls for raw honey (make sure you are using true raw honey). Unlike the processed honey found in most grocery stores, raw honey has amazing healing properties. It is good for you both inside and out. I like to get mine at the local farmer’s market, but many stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s also carry raw honey. Recipe: 1 tsp raw honey with 1 drop Thieves oil. Swallow all together for a soothing immunity treat.
4) Thieves Tea
As the weather gets cool, a warm mug of goodness is just what you need. To enjoy a cup of Thieves tea, make sure you drink out of a mug that is ceramic or glass, and make sure the water is warm, not hot. Hot water can decrease the therapeutic benefits of the essential oils. Recipe: 1 drop Thieves, 2 drops lemon, 1 tsp raw honey, warm water. Mix together and sip on each night or as needed to support the immune system.
5) Throat Spray
This is one of my favorites and I keep one in my purse and another next to my bed. I always want to have this handy immunity spray nearby. Spray in throat at the first tickle you feel in your throat. Continue to spray multiple times throughout the day as needed. Recipe: 1 oz glass spray bottle, 1/2 tsp vodka, 7 drops Thieves, and 3 drops lemon. Shake before spraying in throat. Can also act as a hand purifier or surface cleaner in a pinch.
I like to use a combination of the five of these immunity supporting recipes. During the months of October – March, you can bet I’ll be doing something with Thieves oil!
