One of my favorite things in the whole world is clean sheets on my bed. If I could I would put fresh sheets on everyday. Since I am a normal person and I don’t have time for that sort of thing, I use my linen freshener instead: Lavender Linen Mist. Not only does this make my sheets and pillow cases smell wonderful, the natural lavender oil promotes restful sleep and gets me in the mood to snooze.
I use this linen mister every night before bed by spraying it on my pillow cases and sheets. No, I do not have clean sheets every day, but my Lavender linen spray makes them smell fresh!
This recipe is so easy, I even created a short 2-minute video to show you how simple it is to create. What’s awesome is that you only need four items. That’s it.
Lavender Linen Mist Recipe
- 1 oz glass spray bottle (Buy Here)
- 1 pinch Epsom salt (Buy Here)
- 7-10 drops Lavender Oil (learn how I buy quality oil at wholesale pricing)
- fill with distilled water
Add the pinch of Epsom salt to the glass spray bottle. Add drops of oil and let soak in for a few seconds. Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. Shake well before use. Generously spray pillowcases and linens before bed to promote restful sleep.
The Epsom Salt in the recipe acts as an emulsifier. Oil and water don’t mix. An emulsifier means that it allows the oil to mix and evenly disperse throughout the water. With out an emulsifier, the oil would bead up at the top of the spray bottle. Adding the Epsom Salt ensures a fresh, lavender scent with each spray. If you don’t have Epsom Salt handy, you could use Witch Hazel (natural) to act as your emulsifier.
Treat yourself to this special pleasure, or make it as a gift to give to a lucky friend. This makes an inexpensive gift that is very appreciated. I like to give these as hostess gifts or added to a wedding shower gift. Simple, yet delightful!
Let me know if you enjoy this little gem as much as I do!
