Honey Lemon Lip Scrub
I never realized I needed a lip scrub until I made this recipe for a friend. Now I don’t know how I lived without it!
The past few weeks has been really dry, Santa Ana weather down here in San Diego. My lips have taken a beating.
Rough. Cracked. Dry. Not how I want to describe my lips.
I religiously applied my Honey Peppermint lip balm, but that wasn’t cutting it. I decided to try my homemade lip scrub as an extra exfoliant. It took my lips to a new level of softness.
So kissable. At least according to my husband.
Honey Lemon Lip Scrub Recipe
1/4 cup Brown sugar
1 TBSP oil (Olive, almond, or grape seed oil)
1/2 TBSP Raw Honey
5-8 drops Lemon oil
Mix all ingredients together. Store in small 1 ounce or 2 ounce containers. Rub on lips in the shower, rinse, and finish off with a natural lip balm.
This little scrub is simple to make, inexpensive, and smells and tastes incredible! Even though all the ingredients are edible, I don’t recommend eating it. Sugar is great for healthy skin, but it’s not healthy for the inside of your body.
Additionally, raw honey is incredible for skin. It moisturizes lips by locking moisture in.
If you haven’t tried a lip scrub before, try this recipe! You may even get hooked like me.
Give a Gift
I like to make this scrub in little 1oz or 2oz jars because a little goes a long way. Make a batch and gift it to family and friends (they will thank you)!
A little package with a container of this and some Honey Peppermint lip balm is the perfect little gift set. Looking for a simple teacher gift, Mother’s Day gift, or even a Christmas gift for your girlfriends? You’ve found it!
I use this lip scrub every couple days to rejuvenate and soften my lips. It is important to gently exfoliate lips to restore their natural softness.
The lip scrub removes dead skin cells which naturally softens lips. Afterward, apply a natural lip balm (like my Honey Peppermint Lip Balm) to keep moisture locked in. Be prepared to get asked for lots of kisses! Muwah! ?
