Even Out and Brighten Complexion
Sun, age, and environment can all wreck havoc on your skin. Use these three steps to lighten, brighten, and even out skin tones.
Step 1: Exfoliate
Even out Skin Tones with my gentle brown sugar facial scrub.
One of the best ways to even out and naturally brighten complexion is to gently exfoliate. This helps remove dead skin cells and refresh dull skin. I like to make an exfoliate that is gentle enough for my face and helps lock in moisture.
Salt scrubs are generally too harsh on skin that is why I prefer to make sugar scrubs. Brown sugar is the most gentle and I use this for my face exfoliate.
Raw honey is amazing and helps support acne-prone skin. (Random, awesome fact: honey never goes bad)!
Lemon & Orange essential oils purify, balance, and nourish the skin
And let me tell you, it smells AMAZING! You will want to eat it up, and since it is all natural, you can. ?
⭐️Gentle Facial Scrub⭐️
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 Tbsp coconut oil
1 Tbsp Raw Honey
5-10 drops lemon
5-10 drops orange
Step 2: Use a natural Facial Toner
Sometimes skin just needs a little refreshing and I love my facial toner recipe because it helps restore balance to my skin. Most commercial toners are a blend of chemicals and alcohol which ultimately are drying and damaging to your skin. I use my toner as a refresher to balance my skin’s natural pH and it is made from all natural ingredients:
?Unfiltered, organic Apple Cider Vinegar: naturally restores skin’s pH, antiseptic, lightens the appearance of sun spots and scars, reduces acne
?Rose Water: full of antioxidants which helps prevent signs of aging (smells freakin amazing)!
?Rose Hip Seed Oil: hydrates skin
?Lavender Essential Oil: soothes and nourishes skin
?Purification Essential Oil: cleanses and purifies pores
✨Basically, it’s magic in a bottle!✨
Balancing Facial Toner Recipe:
(This recipe is for sensitive skin), if you skin is oily, you can slightly increase the amount of Apple Cider Vinegar from 1/2 Tbsp to 1 Tbsp).
1 oz spray bottle
1/2 Tbsp Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 Tbsp Rose Water
5 drops lavender oil
3 drops Purification oil
Top with distilled water
Spray directly on skin or spray onto a cotton ball and run onto skin
Apply toner to your face after washing and before moisturizing. Or I like to use it in the morning if I am not washing my face before applying my Fresh Face facial serum.
Step 3: Use a Nightly Serum
Naturally brighten complexion with Citrus oils (like lemon and orange). They are amazing for skin!
? Lemon oil is known to balance skin tones and brighten complexion by removing dead skin cells.
? Orange oil helps with dull & oily complexions.
Citrus oils should be a part of your beauty regimen, however use caution when using on the face and other sun-exposed areas. Only apply sun sensitive oils at night since you should wait at least 8 hours after application to venture into the sun. ☀️
Night Serum Recipe:
When I apply oils at night, I like to add citrus oils. ✨ Remember to avoid sun exposure until at least 8 hours after apply oils to skin.
5ml glass roller bottle (only use glass for citrus essential oils)
1 drop lemon
1 drop Joy
1 drop frankincense
1 drop lavender
Top with Grapeseed oil since it supports and balances skin tones.
Apply to a clean face.
