Ever since I started using quality essential oils, my skin has never looked so radiant and youthful! Not only do I feel great about using natural essential oils to care for my skin, I have kicked my chemical and toxin-filled beauty products to the curb!
Check out my post about 3 Reasons to Avoid Most Beauty Products. I was shocked when I learned about all the toxins in most commercial products and how they can negatively impact health.
Did you know that your body absorbs about 60% of what you put on it? Your skin is extremely porous and rubbing toxic chemicals onto your skin (found in lotions & facial wash) can cause harm to your health.
BEWARE – 3 common toxic chemicals found in many common beauty and skincare products:
Parabens: found in many facial and body washes. Known to have properties that mimic estrogen production and been associated with increased risk of breast cancer.
Fragrance: This is found in many products that are scented (lotions, body washes, etc.). This one is pretty scary because so many chemicals and toxins can hide behind the label of “fragrance.” Some fragrances have been linked to allergies, respiratory issues, and even reproductive health.
Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) / Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES): can be found in over 90% of personal care products such as body wash and facial wash. These sulfates are known to irritate skin, eyes, and even lungs. When combined with other chemicals, these can be potentially dangerous by leading to kidney and respiratory damage.
These are just a FEW of the toxic chemicals found many skin care products. Yikes!!
The best thing you could do for your skin and health is to use natural and quality products on your skin. That is why I use Therapeutic grade essential oils and other natural oils such as organic coconut, grapeseed, jojoba, and almond oil on my skin. These oils not only nourish my skin, but my body, too.
In an attempt to use more natural products on my skin and hair, I created a Natural Beauty Secrets Guide with 25 natural tips and recipes for skincare, hair care, and more! Click the button below to access this free guide!
Additionally, you can check out a few of my favorite skincare recipes I make and are all natural and fabulous for your skin and body. Bonus: these homemade recipes are very inexpensive to make!
(I only suggest using Young Living Essential Oils for my recipes. Since these oils are going to be applied to your body topically and be absorbed into your skin, you should only use 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils).
